SPARDHA ’09 “The Countdown BEGINS”

Guys and gals, fasten your seat belts and hold your breaths, because the greatest showdown in the history of I.T. is about to commence. Ya, you heard it right…….. Spardha’09 begins next week in a much grandeur way than any previous editions of SPARDHA or any other fest in I.T. till date. The main attraction this year is that the ace Indian footballer, Bhaichung Bhutia has kindly graced us to become the chief guest in the award ceremony. Another showpiece event is the “Roadies-Hell Down Under”.
The participation of outside colleges is overwhelming to say the least. 50 colleges have already registered and the number is swelling by the day. An astonishing 1400 sportsmen and women from all corners of the country will set their feet in the holy city of Varanasi and fight for the glory of their colleges. Some teams which require special mention are NIT Trichy, NIT Surat, NIT Allahabad. The darling of all ITans, Modi Institute of Technology too is back this year. A total of 2o0 girl participants have already registered and it appears that the institute will be flooded with beautiful girls for the four days.
The star event this Spardha will be the informal “ROADIES-Hell Down Under”. Although Raghu and Rajiv wont be present here, still its gonna be a test of nerves, grit and absolute determination for the participants to pass this iron test. This is not for The faint hearted, The wannabe's, The faker's and The I'm Cool's. In this the fame will be hard earned. The journey will be full of arduous tasks and unexpected challenges. If by now you think you’ve got the guts to perform and brains to strategize, be ready for the game of naked ambitions that counts on courage and never-say-die spirit.
Captain of the Indian national football team , Padmashree Bhaichung Bhutia has agreed to be the chief guest in the final award ceremony this year. His sheer presence will encourage all the sportspersons and in particular footballers to follow their game with greater zeal.
This SPARDHA is also gonna witness introduction of Handball. Since it is a new game for sports buffs in I.T. and also because of the terrific speed of the game, it is expected to draw large audiences to the Gymkhana ground. When the sports finest athletes finally descend onto the court in SPARDHA’s maiden event, Handball will turn out to be the ultimate test of skill, strength and strategy.
However every show remains incomplete without its audience. So it is in the hands of you, the janta of I.T. to make SPARDHA’09 a grand success. Guys forget the YATRA and leave the OPUS behind ‘coz the baap of all fests is coming to mesmerize your senses in a never before way.
