Moronic ICC believes Little Master not even among The Best…Are u Serious….

Recently ICC listed the Best Ever Test Batsman list. To the surprise of cricket fraternity, The Mumbaikar was absent not only from the top 10 but also from top 20.Apply any performance benchmark, use any mathematical model, nominated any jury no one on this earth could commit such a hilarious blunder…but morons have committed it.. intentionally or unintentionally……yet to be revealed.

ICC claims that only those individuals who have performed consistently for a prolonged period of span are included in the rating. I guess 156 test veteran, with nearly 13,000 runs at an average of 55 in his kitty, defied the standards. Even, The Wall known for his consistency failed to satiate ICC and begged 30th slot.

What can be inferred from the list is that the top 4 run getters in the test arena are not consistent and includes The Master himself, The Stylish Lara, The Brutal Steve Waugh, and The Legendary Sir Allan Bordor. Even more baffling is the fact that the list includes Sachin’s contemporaries like Ricky Ponting, Sangakarra, Kallis, and recently retired Matty Hayden (probably got retirement gift),but not Him.

I guess this is an act of retaliation from ICC end to curb the growing influence of Indian Board and Indian money in International Cricket. Plethora of Cricket ratings sponsored by Indian company have emerged in recent past and have gained immense popularity among the fans. This is an act to tame them by launching a controversial rating and gaining undue popularity. For me it has already Back Fired and ruined the left over (image). I suggest ICC to abort this gimmick of imposing themselves as Cricket Administrators, rather seek public acceptance.

Raining Prizes….Phew

The ebullient atmosphere at Rajputana ground turn into scenes of laughter as administrators joined in the pursuit of glorifying the winners by announcing personal cash rewards.

The occasion was the prize distribution ceremony of Inter Hostel Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament hosted under flood light. The act began when the Director Of Agricultural Institute announced a cash reward of Rs. 1000 for SRK hostel guys, the winner of tournament. Seeing this noble deed, Dean of Student Prof.S.K.Sharma stood as saviour of girls and announced the cash reward of Rs 1000 for Triveni Hostel, the girls champ.

The barsaat didn’t end here, rather joined by Warden of Management Institute who too announced a prize of Rs 1000 for FMS team, the runner up. This was truly an act of encouragement and support from administrators end and hats off to them for this.

Finally, when the ceremony ended it was Naare Baazi time with SRK guys shouting “Desh Ka Culture, Agriculture”

Why should boys have all the fun…..

This was the motto of IT girls when they took upon themselves the Himalayan Task of participating in the tennis ball cricket tournament held in the auspices of Dean Prof. S.K Sharma. IT Girls Team lead by charismatic Prachi Mittal took on Triveni Hostel Team in their first match that boiled down to pressure cooker scenario in later stages. IT crowd was enthralled by the superb hitting from Prachi and Prerna. Fours and Sixes entertained the crowd along with beautiful sights and comments from girl’s pavilion. It was for first time ever in the history of cricket that the match was shortened by 2 over, not due to damped ground or heavy fog but to compensate for 78 extra and uncountable dead balls bowled by each side. The tough fight put forth by IT girls went in vain due to commentator’s mistake, as he announced the faulty score. Although IT girls lost the match by 1 run but they won many hearts by their enthusiastic performance on the field. Lack of seniors and experienced players (4th yearites) was the reason cited for defeat.

In their second encounter against MMV, IT girls looked much more disciplined reducing the number of extras to 16 and limiting opposition for just 78 runs. Superb spells were bowled by Madhu and Himani. IT’s chase was shattered due to magnificent spell of fast bowling by Madhvi, with top four batswoman dismissed for duck. But our tailenders didn’t succumb to the pressure and bounced back securing emphatic win by 1 wicket. Akansha was adjusted Women of Match, who also hit the winning four. Girls have thanked the boys crowd for their support during the match and have appealed to come in much larger number in future events. MMV captain blamed our unbiased umpires and scorers for defeat.

Some boys were so overwhelmed by teams performance that they have decided to act as cheerboys in future event. But what our team seriously need is a coach. Interested candidates may send in their resumes mentioning their plans and visions for our talented team through the comment box.
